Healthy Hopes Cumbria is a Community Interest Company established in 2015 and our aim is to promote the Health and Wellbeing of local people.
We currently deliver health and wellbeing groups in deprived areas of West Cumbria.
We provide a safe and confidential environment where the people attending can relax and take part in healthy living and feel good activities.
Our sessions include: stress awareness, relaxation techniques, self-esteem and confidence building, motivation to change, positive thinking, goal setting, mindfulness, relationships, dealing with difficulties, self-image, anxiety, healthy lifestyle, etc.
We focus on people’s strengths and positive aspects of their life.
We have a person centered approach and will plan sessions to benefit the needs of the group. We hope that providing early intervention and helping people feel good about themselves, can make a lasting difference to people’s lives.
We provides a range of volunteering opportunities which helps to promote personal growth and self esteem. We aim to recruit new volunteers to support us and offer peer support to group attendees. By volunteering with Healthy Hopes they gain professional experience and learn new skills which equips them for future employment.
We also offer bespoke workshops within the workplace, discussing mental health awareness and issue that effect our wellbeing at work. This work is delivered by a qualified Mental Health Nurse with a diploma in stress awareness/management, and a therapeutic worker with a level 4 NVQ in Health and Social Care and vast experience in group work and complex problem.

This is within a relaxed environment where individuals come along for a cuppa, slice of toast and a chat on a weekly basis.

Each week a different topic is discussed followed by relaxation. Sessions range from stress awareness, coping strategies, self esteem and confidence building, goal setting, mindfulness, etc

The duration of these sessions is over a block period where we focus on building and providing the tools needed to build an individuals self esteem and confidence; using yoga, drama and group discussion.
